We would like to introduce you to Claire Lubbock, Community and Events Fundraising Manager at Maudsley Charity.

Claire works closely with the south London community to support people who would like to fundraise for the charity.

“We would like to hear from anyone who would like to fundraise to support Maudsley Charity and support our work to change the story on young people’s mental health” said Claire.

Maudsley Charity works in partnership with South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, to promote positive change in the world of mental health.

The Charity is fundraising for the Change the Story Campaign, to give children and young people experiencing mental illness the opportunity to rewrite their own stories.

“My role is to develop links with people and groups in the community,” said Claire.

“You can fundraise on your own or as a group — it could be through Scouts or your local knitting club.

“Methods of community fundraising are so diverse. It could be anything from people wanting to hold a bake sale, or a skydive, or sitting in a bath of baked beans. You never know what you’re going to get — people are very original and they always come up with something exciting to do.

Claire also works to support larger events, for example where the charity has places in the London Marathon or the Royal Parks Half Marathon.

“We want to support people who would like to fundraise in any way we can. Our supporters and community mean so much to us, and it’s my job to help them do something incredible,” said Claire.
